Before Lighting:
Trim the Wick: Always trim the wick to 1/4 inch before lighting to ensure a steady flame and prevent soot. Find a Safe Spot: Place on a flat, heat-resistant, non-flammable surface, away from drafts (windows, vents, fans), kids, pets, and flammable items like curtains.

During Burning (The First Burn is Key):
Create a Full Melt Pool: Let the candle burn long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the container, especially the first time, to prevent "tunneling" (wax building up on the sides). Follow the 1-Inch Rule: Generally, burn for about one hour per inch of candle diameter (e.g., a 2-inch candle needs 2 hours). Limit Burn Time: Don't burn for more than 4 hours at a time to avoid excessive heat, smoking, and wick mushrooming. Keep wax pool free of debris. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

After Burning:
Extinguish Safely: Use a candle snuffer to avoid soot and wax splatter, or gently dip the wick into the melted wax with a wick dipper and straighten it. Let it Cool: Allow the candle to cool and the wax to harden completely before moving or relighting. Store Properly: Keep in a cool, dark, upright place to maintain quality. Discontinue use when 1/2" of wax remains.
